Hits and Miss of 2011

I love a good deal! I love finding products that are both inexpensive, and that work.
Here are some hits, all under $10.00!

Hit #1
Essie Nail Polish
Photo from
2011 was the year I tried Essie for the first time, and I've been loving it ever since.  I've collected 9 Essie polishes throughout the year (which is a lot for me!).  The colours apply smoothly and are fairly close to how they look in the bottle.  Price can vary depending on where you buy them.  The best deal I saw this year was at London Drugs, who had them on sale for $6.99.

Hit #2
St. Ives Exfoliating Scrub
Photo from
I was in the market for a new scrub after finishing one I had from Clinique.  But trying to save some cash only allowed for a drug store purchase.  I bought this scrub on a whim from London Drugs, for $4.97!  I'm glad I did.  The product has a light pleasant scent, and leaves my skin feeling super soft and refreshed.  I use it about twice a week, unless I do something bad like fall asleep with my makeup on.  Then I will use in the next morning regardless of when I last used it.

Hit #3
A Sleep Mask
Photo from
Every girl needs her beauty sleep.  And this year I rediscovered how much a sleep mask can help.  I personally like it very dark, basically black when I sleep.  The mask helped to block out any light shining through the window, and blocked light from the sun on those mornings I was able to sleep in.  I got mine at Walmart for $4.00.

Miss #1
Tresseme Hair Spray
I purchased the Ultra Hold hairspray, but was not a fan.  While it did hold as it claims, I really didn't like the finish or the smell.  The finish was crunchy and looked greasy.  The smell was too chemically for my liking.

Miss #2
ELF Cream Eyeshadows
If you follow my blog you already know I didn't like these.  You can read my review of them here.

Did you have any luck at the drugstore this year?

  1. Hi Sarah!

I nominated your blog for the Liebster Blog Award, which is for new bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. For details on the nominations, please check out the guidelines on my blog. :)

Essie and sleep masks are on my list of 2011 discoveries too. Hope you are enjoying the holidays!

  2. Anything I've tried of Aveeno has usually been good! And Glysoderm moisturizer for your feet and hands.

  3. Your post is too beautiful and I really impressed by this blog. Everything is fairly defined in this post. You should continue do this type of post. It’s enjoyable post.

I'd love to hear from you! I read each and every comment received.
