Moving time

Hello all,

I have finally decided to move blogs. I have been thinking about it for awhile, and have now created a new page.

My new blog address is
www.cooperscloset11.blogspot.ca

There are a few reasons for the move;
-I really disliked my blog name and url
-after being on my no buy for two months, I have realized just how much makeup I already own. I realistically could not buy makeup for years before I use it all (except for mascara). I feel being a beauty blogger who doesn't try new things is a bit useless.
-my love for clothing has always been strong, but lately has become stronger.

My new location will be more fashion based, probably with a little bit of lifestyle mixed in. I have carried a few posts from this blog over there to help start me out.

I want to thank each and every person who ever read this blog. I have met some really great people through blogging, and I hope to continue to do so.

I would really appreciate anyone visiting my new blog and/or following. I have followed everyone on my new blog who I was following on from here.

Thank you all for the views, comments and support!!
Cheers!

No Buy Month Two

It's is officially two months since I started on a no buy, and I'm pleased to say it's going very well! I have managed not to cheat at all. The only beauty purchase I have made was at the Khiel's event. Purchase was allowed because a) special event, b) I needed new cleanser/toner/moisturizer anyways.

This no buy has allowed me to appreciate the products I already have. And made me realize my product addiction isn't as bad as I thought. As soon as I started thinking "do you really need this" it was easy. 99% of the time the answer is no. So I have been saving my money (well, sort of, I'm still buying clothes).

The empties for this month aren't as impressive as last month. I had so many items last time that were almost gone when this started. Still, I have seven empties to report:
Bath & Body Works Vanilla foam hand sanitizer. I generally try not to use hand sanitizer, but this lived on my desk at the office over cold and flu season. I have had this forever. The proof? This type of sanitizer is discontinued!

Yves Roche tangerine shower gel.  I got this in a Luxe Box a while ago, it was nothing special. Smelt exactly like Satsuma from the Body Shop. I am pleased to say that after finishing this little bottle, I'm down to only having one shower gel in my shower! No spares!
Ralph Lauren Hot perfume. This was the first gift J ever bought me (insert "aww" here). I think this is only the second perfume I have ever finished. It lasted about 3.5 years, as I didn't wear it everyday, and I have 5 other perfumes plus a ton of samples.

Perfume sample from Nina Ricci. This was one of the many samples I have received through Luxe Box. It was ok, a little too musky for me, but I wore it to the office to use it up.
Bare Minerals volumizing mascara, Tarte amazonia clay mascara and Fairy Drops mascara. These have all previously been seen in my Mascara of the Month posts. The Bare Minerals was my favourite of the three. The Fairy Drops is a little bit of a cheat, as it's not empty. But I tried it, and hated it. Time to let it go.

If you're on a no buy, let me know hows it's going!
Cheers!

Lately on Pinterest

If there was every a way to help define your style (or what you want your style to be) your Pin Boards on Pinterest is the easiest way to see it. I pin at leisure, usually on a Sunday morning while J is still sleeping and I'm enjoying my morning coffee. But when I go back to review my fashion board, my style is clear. I'd call it... preppy with a twist? This does surprise me a bit, as I don't own many of these items. Guess I know what I need to shop for!

I love both these outfits. The photo on the left is a great weekend outfit for me. I need to look for a loose fitting dress in a neutral colour, so it will be versatile.  The photo on the right had actually helped inspire the outfit I wore to my last blogger meet up. I love the menswear inspired shirt with the flirty lace skirt.
Bright bottoms. While I'm not sure If I could pull off bright yellow pants, I would certainly try. I tried on some bright blue jeggings from Old Navy a month or so ago. They didn't fit right, and I haven't found a pair that do yet. The hunt continues...
Fun preppy pieces. This lace blazer gives the otherwise basic outfit a kick. I currently own a black blazer and a navy blazer, but no 'fun' ones. Bright coloured cardigans. I'm always cold in my office. I don't own too many cardigans, mostly heavier sweaters. I feel like I should pick up a few light weight ones for Spring/Summer. The red one above looks great paired with the checked shirt.

Something coloured mustard. I feel like this colour might be a challenge with my fair skin tone. The skirt may be a better option, as the colour won't be against the redness of my face.

What have you been Pinning lately?
I will keep you posted if I find any of these pieces soon!
Cheers!

Fancy Pants

This Vancouver weather is driving me nuts! I packed an umbrella around all day today, as it looked like rain when I left my house. Of all the days for the sun to come out! Not that I'm complaining about the sun, only about carting around the umbrella!

I got to spend today with a lovely friend of mine. We did a bit of shopping and had lunch at Joe Fortes. I was determined not to wear a coat today, so it was a bit of a struggle to think of something that would be warm enough, but still have some Spring kick to here. Here's what I came up with.

This sweater has been a great addition to my wardrobe. I originally bought it in a camel colour, and when the black when on sale for boxing day, I snatched it up too. I have lived in them all winter. Sweater from Plenty.

I added the bead bracelets for another pop of colour. Beaded bracelets from Le Chateau (old). The other bracelet is from Pandora.
The pants are from Forever21. I wasn't sure how to style them at first. I have only wore them once before rolled up as capris with a plain t-shirt. But the sweater and heels turned out nicely with them. This waistline is new for me, I find it pretty comfortable. If you have any more suggestions on how to style these, I would love to hear them!
Shoes from Spring. I have had these for a few years, and low and behold they're one of this Spring's hottest colour (who says hoarding things for a long time is a bad idea?). The heel is low enough for walking around during the day, while giving the outfit a more put together feel.

Hope you all had a lovely Saturday. I finished mine off with dinner with J (hubs) at the Keg, and watching some Dexter (my new addiction).

Cheers!

Closet Overhaul - Step 2

Last week I decided I needed to clear out my closet. This past weekend I began the process of removing the junk! My lovely friend K came over to help with the decision making. I'm a bit of a hoarder, so she helped me move things along.
After a couple of hours, I'm pleased to say I have a rather larger pile for the donation bin.

The pile includes skirts, dresses, pants and a lot of old tshirts. Some items were old and need to be recycled, and others simply don't fit any longer. I'm hoping someone else can get use out of them.
If anyone is interested in detailed photos of the items that are still wearable, leave a comment below. I would be up for sending these to a loving new home instead of directly to a thrift store.

Step 3 will hopefully be completed this weekend, hang everything up and organize!

Cheers!
