Hits and Misses of 2011

Merry Christmas!
With only 6 days left in the year, I wanted to look back and share some of the best, and worst products I tried in 2011.

Hit #1
Urban Decay Naked Palette

This palette was a big hit for me.  The colours in the palette allow you to create both simple neutral looks, as well as dramatic looks for evening.  I wore colours from this palette on my wedding day :)  The size of this palette is ideal for travel, I took it on two trips with me this year, and it was the only shadow I brought.  This only part I did not like about this palette was that it was so hard to find!  I ended up ordering mine online from Sephora, and despite having to pay for shipping I think it was worth it.  As for the Naked Palette 2? I will probably pick one up, if I can ever get my hands on one!  I'd love to compare them.

Miss #1
Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV

After loving my Naked palette so much I wanted to give this palette a try too.  However, I was disappointed.  The biggest disappointment is the packaging.  While it looks pretty, it's so big and bulky.  It takes up far too much room on my vanity, and thus has ended up in a drawer, and rarely gets pulled out.  The colours are a decent mix, and have good colour pay off.  The UD Primer Potion is the same as it always is, although I personally prefer Too Faced Shadow Insurance.  I wasn't really a fan of the mascara in this palette, and I haven't even tried the eyeliner yet.  Overall, I think I need to take the time, and cut up the packaging to try and depot the shadows. then maybe they'd get some use.

More hits and misses to come throughout the week.
Cheers!
Sarah
