To De-pot or Not?

I bought the Urban Decay Book of Shadows back in September. After my love for the Naked Palette, I thought I would love this too. While the colours are useable, the packaging is awful!! The box is so larger and clunky and a pain to deal with.

So now I am purposing the question, to de-pot or not?

Pros:
-I have room in a Z-palette for these.
-It would get this massive box off of my desk
-I might actually use these more

Cons:
-Since this is in cardboard, it will take some serious cutting
-In this box you can't tell how deep the pans are, but I'm assuming it would fit in a Z-palette
-This could go horribly wrong and I end up with smashed un-useable shadows

I have de-boxed Benefit blushes before with no problem, so I'm really thinking I want to take this one on Saturday.

Please let me know what you think! Too much work to de-pot? Too high risk of breaking the shadows?
or tell me to shut it, stop asking questions and just get on with it!?

Cheers!
Sarah

  1. Depot!! The packaging is super annoying and you would save so much space having those in a Z Palette. There are a ton of Youtube videos and blog posts about depotting the Book of Shadows so I don't think you'll have a problem.

  2. When it comes to Urban Decay BOS or any LE palette, I never want to depot them. I find it's a waste to ruin all of the art and work brands puts into these type of palettes.
If there was some way you could make a DIY cover for just the palette piece itself, then you could store the external box and save yourself the risk of breaking the shadows!
