Vancouver Fashion Showcase

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the 2011 Vancouver Fashion Showcase.  This event was created to feature the talented local designers of Vancouver, as well as support a great cause, Dress for Success.  The net proceeds from ticket sales, as well as the money raised through the raffle prizes were given directly to Dress for Success Vancouver.

I attended the show with Rosalia of Style Love.
We took some shots across from the venue before the evening began.

Once at the Vancouver Art Gallery, we received our tickets and VIP pins.  Instead of giving you a tacky plastic bracelet, we were provided with a tulle flower pin to attach to our tops.

There were a variety of companies participating in the event, including Stella & Dot, Pop Chips and Beauty Mark.  Chris & Gemma from Beauty Mark were giving hair and makeup touch ups prior to the show.
Here I am after my hair was touched up.
Along with the beauty and shopping, there was also a fun photo booth set up, and we couldn't resist!
The fashion show featured 30 local designers.

I LOVE this lace dress! It's simply and elegant and would be a timeless piece to add to my wardrobe.
The accessories from this look are amazing.

The fashion show included two small intermissions, one featuring two break dancers and the second a musical performance.  This was the first fashion show I have ever attended (that wasn't hosted in a mall) and I really enjoyed the experience.  I do wish however that there had been a written program for the evening.  They did display the designers on a TV monitor during the show, but now posting this, I'm not able to label the photos with the appropriate designer.
The Vancouver Fashion Showcase has activities happening all weekend, visit their website for details.

Cheers!
Sarah
