A Hint of Spring

The weather in this city has been insane lately! Rain, snow, a hint of sun? Vancouver has had it all as of late, and I'm sick of it! Give me Spring!
Yesterday, the sun did peak out a little, but it was still freezing! I went to dinner with some friends and made a Spring dress work for the cold.

I kept warm by pairing my Spring dress with leggings, boots and a cardigan.
Dress, Forever 21. Leggings, Artizia. Cardigan, Old Navy. Boots, Madden Girl. Coat, RW&Co.
This print is so cute for Spring, I would be perfect for bunch on a patio somewhere. I also have a new Coach purse in these shots. I picked it up while in Nashville. It's a great size for running around with.

Where ever you are, I hope you're having nicer weather than we are. Please send me some heat!

Cheers!

Closet Overhaul - Step 1

Did you know you can break your closet? Well believe it or not, I managed to do so the other day. First a bit of background on this. In my current house I don't have an actual closet, I have a wardrobe from Ikea. Anyways, I'm pretty lazy about putting my clothes away, they tend to sit in the laundry basket clean for a while before I actually put them away. Well, I finally decided to get it all put away, and about 1/2 way through the basket, my closet was jammed! I thought I could fit more in there, so I just kept at it. This was a dumb move! I managed to pop the bar right off of the wardrobe from having too much weight on it. All this, and probably only half my clothes had been hung!

So today is the day! After reading such blogs as Here and Now where the lovely Jessica is only wearing 30 pieces from her wardrobe for 30 days, and Kendi Everyday who took over her closet and made it more functional. I have decided I really need to get on this. I need to reassess what pieces I have and love, and toss everything else! My friend K is coming by today to help me through this (thank you!), I have a feeling I'm going to be overwhelmed at the size of this project so she will be here to help me stay on track.

My goal is to downsize, keep the pieces I love and any "questionables" will be stored away for a month. If I don't think about it within a month I probably don't need it! I would like to evolve my style to a classic look. And begin to invest in fewer pieces, but of higher quality. I seem to have a lot of 'disposable clothing' and it's time to move on.

I will update the process as I get going on it today. Hopefully I will have a more functional closet at the end of this. And a big bag for donation or swapping.

How's your closet doing?

Cheers!

Back in the City

Hello beauties! I'm back in Vancouver after having a week away on a work trip. The flights were long, cold and boring, but the trip itself was pretty good.
I have a few outfit photos to share from the trip, as well as some randoms.

Texas JalapeƱo Chocolate, I saw this while on my lay-over in TX, looked interesting, but I wasn't brave enough to try it. I have had chili chocolate before and didn't enjoy it too much, so this didn't look like it was worth the risk.
My first OOTD, I wore this one into the office. It's really simple, but I felt pretty put together in it.
Cardigan, Old Navy. Bow Blouse, Forever 21. Pants, Mexx. Shoes, Aldo.
I  also wanted to post this to show the versatility of my bow blouse. The last time I showed it here, it was a lot more country.

This next OOTD consists of my favourite wrap dress and my new blazer. I have been loving dresses lately. They're comfortable and easy to wear, and seem to fit me a lot better than most pants. I think I will be needing to stock up on a few more for spring.

Dress, Jacob. Blazer, Aritiza. Shoes, Aldo.

I love this shot of I for the sunset in Nashville. I had two really nice weather days while there, and didn't even need a coat!

Red velvet cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. The only thing to say about this is HEAVEN! This is my favourite cake ever. If you're ever at a Cheesecake factory make sure you order it.
Lastly, two more finished products. I used my samples of the Fekkai shampoo and conditioner while on my trip. The size was just right for the amount of days I was gone. The products were pleasant smelling aleft my hair feeling soft. I will be keeping these in mind next time I'm ready for a new full size set.

I'm back home now and will be back to my regular routine.

Hope you all have a good weekend!
Cheers!

Weekend of Eating

Happy Sunday everyone!
I'd like to start off by saying I have clearly failed at my Fun Friday posts. While I love the idea, the snooze button always seems to win, leaving me little to no time to apply anything but my usual 5 minute face. I will continue to post those types of looks when I actually get a chance to do them.

Yesterday we had another blogger meet up, and it was so much fun! We went to High Tea at the Wedgewood Hotel. The food was delicious, the tiny portions are surprisingly filling.

I chose Lavender Earl Grey tea. Each girl received their tea in these tea presses.
 Cute flower centre piece.
 Our fancy sugar.
Tiny jams, a few of us were excited about how cute these were.
 Our tower of treats.

It was a lovely afternoon of eating, chatting about blogs and future events.

Hope you all had a good weekend, I'm off to Nashville TN tomorrow, I will try to do a post or two while away but it depends on the internet connections at the hotel.

Cheers!

Wardrobe Wednesday: Pumped Up Kicks

We're two months into 2012, how are your new years resolutions going?
I'm pleased to say I'm doing pretty well with one (my biggest!), and that is sticking to working out =D

As part of my new years plan, I decided I needed new gym shoes. This is a repurchase for me, as I have had the same style before in another colour (I destroyed the originals while in Hawaii).

Meet my lovely Nike Free Runs.

Now I know some of you are probably thinking these are ridiculous, but I love them! The bright colours are so fun. My last pair were neon green!
I have been using these for about a month now. These runners are very lightweight and comfortable to wear. They give enough support without feeling too tight or constraining. I recommend checking these out if you're in the marketing for some new gym shoes.

I hope you are doing well sticking to your new years resolutions. If you are not, let this post be a reminder to you to get back onto it and try again!

Cheers!
